A message from the Chair

Dear Performers, Teachers, Parents and Friends,

Welcome to the Portsmouth Festival of Performing Arts. This year’s festival features a diverse range of performances including dancers, guitarists, pianists, speech and drama performers, string musicians, vocalists and woodwind players. Unfortunately this year we are unable to feature a Rock and Pop Section as we don’t have anyone to organise and run it.

Our goal is to encourage performers and provide them with the chance to showcase their talents and receive constructive feedback in a competitive yet friendly environment.

We’re delighted to announce that our online entry system Play&Perform worked exceptionally well last year and will continue to be used this coming year.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Management Committee for their unwavering support and dedication as I’ve served as Chair this year. Ian Frogley has retired as Treasurer handing over to Graham Smith, and Carol Frogley has retired from the Piano Section. I thank them both for their contributions over the past 25 plus years. We welcome Meg Hamilton and Mariana Tapp who have jointly step forward to take over the Piano Section. Also Hayley Sexton has taken on the Dance Section to allow me to concentrate on my other responsibilities. We still have some volunteer positions available, so if you’re interested in helping us out and making a difference, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Notably, we’re looking for someone to take on the Vocal and Rock and Pop sections.
